JudgesWe are happy to announce our judges for Euro OES Show 2024:
Judge Mrs Barbara Müller
I grew up with Newfoundlands and German Shepherds and dogs have been part of my life ever since. In 1976 I bought my first two OES from Mrs. Jean Gould. Rollingsea Hello Dolly and Rollingsea Day Dream joined my Cocker Spaniels, which I had been breeding under the “Pennylane” prefix successfully already at that time. Day Dream grew into a beautiful bitch and with her I started my OES kennel, which produced countless national and international Champions.
One of my outstanding bitches of the last few years, International, Swiss, Austrian, Czech and Finnish Champion, Zottels Xtravagance, "Nancy" I bought 2011 from my sister, Christina Bailey. Except many other wins incl. BIS at major shows, she became in Brno (CZ) European Winner 2014 and FCI group 1 first, and World Winner in Helsinki 2014 with BOB. Many of her children have contributed significantly to my breeding success.
At the moment 4 generations of OES live in our house, Nancy, her daughter Pennylane Golden Slipper, her daughter Pennylane Magic Lucy and her puppies.
In 1980 I was confirmed by the Swiss Kennel Club (SKG) as a judge for all Spaniel breeds and in 1983 I judged for the first time OES at an International Show. Since then I have been judging OES on a regular basis all over the World including England and Australia. These shows included National Specialties, European Winner- and several World Shows.
Since 2012 I am approved to judge all FCI breeds. My love for the OES gave me the idea to found the Bobtail Club of Switzerland in 1980 and I officiated in that Club for 18 years as a board member, responsible for all breeding aspects. From 2006 to 2010 I was the president of this Club. I am also a founder member of the prestigious Euro OES Show. Since 2006 I am a member of the Swiss Kennel Club board and President of the Judges- and Show Commission. In 2010 I became a member of the FCI Europe Section Committee, and have been the vice-president for many years. From 2014 to 2019 I have been the President of the FCI Show Commission and in 2019 I became a member of the FCI General Committee.
As an invited Cruft’s judge for OES in 2026, I feel very honoured to judge the EURO OES Show in Finland 2024.
I am sure that we will have a magnificent show in the north of Europe and wish the committee and all the exhibitors a lot of fun, joy and success.

Co-judge Mrs Eleonore Singer
Even as a child, I always grew up with at least one dog. Not a pedigree dog, my father usually took in a dog that had lost its place in life. My parents' last companion was a mix between a spaniel and a Pekingese. That's why, when I and my husband were finally able to buy an old house with a garden, I was looking for a dog that had a lot of hair and was child-friendly. My son always had friends in our garden and it had to be a suitable dog. After a long search, we chose a bobtail. This is how our first bobtail came into the house in 1975: “Nuschka vom Riedring”. Not from a very well-known German breeder, but with good dogs in the background, some of which were successful in the UK and were imported. This bitch became the founding mother of my breeding and is the foundation of almost all of my litters, mainly via the maternal line. She had a litter in 1979 with the American import dog Ch. “Ellenglaze Ladies Choice”, with 12 wonderful puppies. It was her only litter, but a wonderful foundation. Since 1979 I have raised 38 litters with 227 puppies.
I have attended countless exhibitions and achieved many championship titles. For me, my best success was the BOB at Euro 2006 in Volta Mantovana with my “Enchant Wisecracker Bell”. At the same exhibition, “Enchant X-Piece of Luck” took second place in the junior bitches. This bitch achieved 2nd and 3rd place in large bitch classes with 13 and 11 starters at Crufts in 2007.
I have been a judge for all British Shepherd and Tibetan breeds since 1986 and have judged nationally and internationally. Unfortunately, since my husband's death, I have only very rarely had the opportunity to take on judgeships. I am therefore particularly pleased and privileged to be able to serve as a judge at the Euro OES 2024. I would like to thank the board of the Finnish OES Club for their kind invitation and for giving me the opportunity to judge the youngest, youth and veteran classes. This is a great honor for a breeding judge and I really appreciate the trust placed in me.
